Messenger mercury

NASA robotic mission to Mercury, Messenger, has sent the latest images of the planet.

From the photo, scientists predicted that the small Mercury can become the second center of life for mankind, considering the distance of the planet with the Sun that only 36 million miles. Of course, the atmosphere is very thin, and the temperature can reach 800 degrees Fahrenheit. And at night temperature may fall drastically to minus 300.

Differences of time constraints also become an obstacle. 58 days on Earth, means 88 days on Mercury. Which means that, one year there will take longer time on Earth.

The images were sent from the visible surface of Mercury with 83 miles of crater, the crater’s named Polygnotus. In another image, it appears from these areas part of the sunlit and the dark.

Messenger exploration started by the United States Space Agency since January 2004, and the robot will continue there until March 2011. The robot’s mission is to find possibilities of life in on the Mercury
