Blackberry Storm

The two handsets, Blackberry Bold and Blackberry Storm have attracted our attention recently. We know that the main difference lies on the touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard thing, besides that is there any other difference between these two gorgeous handsets?

Mostly the Blackberry Bold and his brother , the Storm, were born with pretty the same features. They both have HSDPA network,

  • Dimension and Weight: Bold has 114 x 66 x 14 mm and 133 grams, while Storm is heavier in 155 grams and 112.5 x 62.2 x 14 mm measurement
  • Display: Storm definitely outperform Bold with 360×480 pixels (3.25 inch) and Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate. Bold in other side has 480×320 pixels, that I think sufficient enough
  • Network: Bold can work for HSDPA 850/1900/2100 (Triple Band HSDPA), while Storm can only work in HSDPA 2100 MHz frequency and CDMA2000 1x EV-DO (only for 9530 series)
  • Wi-Fi: Bold has Wi-Fi, 802.11a/b/g, while BlackBerry Storm has not! Too bad
  • Camera: Bold has 2 megapixels camera, while Storm has 3.15 megapixels camera. Better resolution doesn’t mean better quality
  • Battery: Bold is provided with Li-ion 1500 mAh, it’a a bit larger than Storm that only has 1400 mAh. however Storm’s battery life is claimed to have better standby time and talktime. According to its official specs, Bold claims to have up to 13 days days (Standby time) and up to 5 hours (Talk time), while Storm claims to have 15 days (Standby time) and 5.5 hours (Talk time). Does Storm has better battery management?
  • Now, have you figured out, which one is the better?

Finally it became official that the Blackberry Storm exclusive carrier for in different countries would be; Verizon in the U.S. but in Europe, India and Oceania will be Vodafone.

How about other countries where there is neither Verizon nor Vodafone … sorry but I do not think we have the first BlackBerry touchscreen fast in our hands
