Google Chrome version 0.3.154.9 Update

Google has already begun distributing the a third beta version of its recently released Chrome browser. “You will automatically get updated in the next few days,” Said Chrome program manager Mark Larson in a mailing list Wednesday night announcing the new version.

But for users who can’t wait to see the new Chrome, they can anticipate the updated version right away by clicking ‘About Google Chrome’ from the wrench menu.

The update takes Chrome to version 0.3.154.9 and takes on a variety of fixes, performance tweaks, and security weaknesses. One such vulnerability includes a scenario where, once a user opens a pop-up window, the site could show a different web address one that actually supplied the information.

Larson warns that such a flaw could be used to trick mislead people about the origin of a Web site and giving up sensitive information.

Other changes include better performance and reliability for plug-ins such as Silverlight and Flash; support for scrolling with a touchpad; and better performance and reliability for people who browse the Web through a proxy.

More features that makes browsing experience much convenient including the ability to sort columns in the password manager, adding a command line switch to the start the browser in incognito mode, better support for Windows Media Player, crash fixes, and more, as outlined in the release notes.
