Do you know USB brand that rules the market? For the second quarter of this year, the champ goes to Kingston. That’s what Santa Clara Consulting Group said based on their research. Kingston takes the market share of 15.49%, much more superior to Transcend which also comes from Taiwan with 13.48% market share.

And what other brands are included in the Top 5? They are SanDisk (12.73%), Sony (4.82%) and Imation (2.62%). And then Buffalo (2.53%), pny (2.33%), Verbatim (2.20%), Lexar (1.80%) and Memorex (0.97%).

To remember, brands are not always in the top to number one in all countries. There are a large brand globally, but there is also strong in specific countries.

By region, in the second quarter of this year, the United States leads the market with 31.56%, followed by Europe (31.56%), Asia and the Pacific (27.90%) and Japan (8.97%). Total recorded some 39.96 million units of USB flash disks are sent to market in the second quarter 2008..

Talking about capacity, the most outstanding in the market is the 2G (37%). However, flash disk with a 4GB capacity and larger grabbed 46% sales in the second quarter of this year. By the end of this year the number of USB flash removable disk that the market is estimated to reach 165.74 million
